Do you want a meaningful and developing job? We are looking for a personal assistant with the possibility of a supervisory role!

About the position:

Do you possess qualities such as a sense of responsibility, flexibility, and attention to detail? Are you passionate about creating opportunities and a better everyday life for another person? Are you also a team player who enjoys collaboration? Then this could be the right role for you!

We are looking for a personal assistant with the possibility of a supervisory role for a 43-year-old man with Down syndrome who lives in his own apartment in Hedemora. He needs support in his daily life, including interpreting and translating his speech, reading and writing, personal hygiene, and household chores. You will also play an important role in motivating and activating him, as well as helping to plan his days. He has a great interest in movies, music, fishing, walking, gym, and mini-golf. He also regularly practices bowling with competitions about once a month during the season.

In addition to the assistant role, we are looking for someone who wants to develop into a supervisory role. This role includes staff meetings and staffing responsibilities, with proper onboarding and gradually increased responsibility. As a supervisor, you are fair, constructive in conflicts, and have the opportunity to grow in your role.

The position has an employment rate of a fixed schedule of 46.25% and includes overnight shifts with on-call duty, including weekend work. On-call duty is in addition to the specified employment rate.

About you:

We are looking for a positive and caring person who is proactive and enjoys contributing ideas for fun activities. It is important that you are organized, punctual, and attentive to details – and that you are willing to go the extra mile to create a pleasant everyday life. A good sense of humor and a readiness to laugh are appreciated, and if you also enjoy cooking and can prepare good traditional dishes, that's a big plus!

For communication to work smoothly, you need to speak fluent Swedish. The ability to speak is there, but it may be difficult to understand in certain situations until you get to know him. Experience with alternative communication is an advantage, but the most important thing is that you have sensitivity and common sense. If you have previously worked in a similar role, it is a merit, but your personality and understanding of his needs are what matter most.

Since changes can be challenging for him, we are looking for someone who sees this as a long-term employment opportunity. A driver's license and access to a car are required.

Scope and Work Setup:
  • Start date: By agreement.

  • Employment rate: Part-time 46.25% with the possibility of future supervisory responsibilities.

  • Contract: Introductory shifts and about a month of hourly employment before the regular employment rate is assigned, provided that everything has gone well. This gives you a chance to feel secure and well-prepared for your new role.

  • Work shifts: Overnight shifts with on-call duty (sleeping) and weekend work.

What do we offer you?

Working as a personal assistant is more than a job – it is a way to facilitate everyday life for someone else while feeling that you contribute something important. We appreciate your skills and commitment, and we see each individual as a valuable part of our team. With us, you will be offered:

  • Internal training to strengthen your skills and security in the role.
